Never give up on your Vision or Dream Health and Wellbeing has been a passion of mine from a very early age and I have always had my head stuck in a book and learning what I can about the body and mind. Listening to other people’s feedback, studying and networking really do help you to develop in the business world.  You cannot become successful by yourself and it takes a lot of time, determination and team work.  It also requires putting in the hours, switching off the TV and taking your time to do your research.  It helps if you love what you do and want to share your passion and enthusiasm with others. After over twenty years in social care I have been teaching exercise to the elderly and then went on to teach people with physi...

Are you doing what you love? Think about what you did naturally as a child and you will often find the answers to what you life purpose is. From a very young age, I have always been upside down, climbing trees, doing handstands, cartwheels and contorting myself into different positions.  I remember starting off doing gymnastics when I got into the infants and really enjoyed that.  Then at the age of twelve, I got into yoga.  This was very unusual back in the early eighties as yoga was seen a weird thing for aging hippies.  I just remember being given a yoga book from my Aunty that she picked up form a jumble sale and thought it might interested me. The lady in the book had a number of brown and green all in one leotards, whic...

Grow in your sleep presents walk innovation in south London. Grow in your sleep was born in Zakynthos in Greece alongside advanced serendipity, which evolved into Walk Innovation.  It started with three friends, who were at a crossroads in their lives.  We did lots of walking, talking, keeping journals and having lots of fun.  What came out of this special place and journey is a new vision called walk innovation. Adam first tried out this walking and coaching method on me in the lovely mountains of Zakynthos.  When Adam first told me about his vision, I was not convinced and can be a very hard woman to please and get on board with new ventures.  I have done the motivational speaking conferences, network marketing meetings...

The Obesity Crisis   The obesity crisis is now reaching epidemic proportions.  I have been working in the health service for the past twenty years and have seen a rise in weight related illnesses and the problems that it courses.  Back in the 1970s, there were only a few people who where over weight.  People used to consume more calories back then, but did more manual labour, such as washing by hand, walking to the shops and walking back with heavy shopping.  More people cycled to work and children would walk to school.  Many people had their own allotments and gardens and would grow their own vegetable.  We would eat food that was fresh and in season.  Now food is transported thousands of miles around the world, which lo...

The universe is knocking on your door Have you ever had a time where everything seems to be going against you?  I have been studying hard, working hard and playing hard, trying to get through the past few weeks.  I have been advising others on how to be healthy and fit and not taking my own advice. I was hit with the most awful bout of tension, uncertainty and stress and I told people at work I am a robot.  My work mates did not how to deal with me as I am usually so positive and the one that people turn to in times of need.  I was acting like a real diva and a drama queen and wanted people to know that I needed some attention and support. To try and get rid of my stress, I went abit crazy and had a wild night out of brandy and shots and...

Back in December 2008 Adam and I was dog sitting in Zakynthos and discovered a new walking technique just by walking up and down the lovely mountains.  Since then we have been perfecting the technique and trying it out on our friends.  We went back in March to try it out again and here is one of our adventures in Greece.  We decided not to have a car and staying in a remote part of the island.  It was out of season, so we were amongst all of the locals.  Adams Aunty lives out in Zakynthos and offered to take us to the local town which was quite a long drive, plus I needed to get some cash out.  I got to the town and forgot my cash card.  I decided that this was not a major issue and said to Adam that we are planning on doing walking holi...

Hours after I posted this blog, i got the news that my cousin had died aged just 28, leaving three youg children. This just makes it even more relevant to look after your health. Children should not be dying before the parents, but this is happening more and more.

Hi Karl

I love this blog, I am trained in Nutrition and agree with what you say on the rules. As long as you enjoy your food and do lots of walking you are on your way to having a long and happy life.

Have protein with every meal as this keeps you going for longer. I lived on beans on toast as a child, which I called skin heads on rafts:)) also poached eggs where very good. plus lots of home grown veg.

Kelly:))
