This past Saturday going to work found a radio station that was playing Christmas songs and enjoyed them all the way to work.   That evening with family and friends saw the Trans-Siberian Orchestra  at Key-Arena Saturday night.  Wonderful fantastic show; they played all sorts of Christmas songs with their flair and style incredible and words do not do justice.  It was the first time seeing them and well worth the time and would highly recommend. Thanks Giving is coming up next week, soon it seems.  It is a holiday steeped in mystery and wondrous tales and truths; often the real deal is not as exciting as the story or like many a story the actual event was not anywhere near the hype and grandeur of the current version.    Looking back...

A lot of changes have gone on and I have grown in understanding of myself and others which I am thankful. Almost a year ago a journal titled “My Problem or Your Problem? Today I offer resolution and clarity for that journal.  The Serenity Prayer                                                                        God, grant me the serenity                             To accept the things I cannot change;                        Courage to change the things I can;               And wisdom to know the difference.            My preference is... Grant me peace, happiness, to accept the things I can make change; the courage to help others when they ask, to give them space and freedom to be themselves and to lov...

Clothes should be optional but the line "Are you decent" has thrown a money or spanner into the works.  The line are you decent after reading here at CS seems counter intuitive or an oxymoron.  We are all decent with or without clothes yet many maintain morals yet we don't demoralize the babes entering this world in their birthday suits so why stop there? This line has always bugged me.  Here in America it means do you have enough clothes on for people to look at you.  Yes there are also laws that insist that you have clothes on in order to keep lawful, unless you’re on a nudist beach or in your own home or other places its authorized.   As a heterosexual male I have always been fond of the female form and have found females in all sh...

This evening I had taken a few minutes to look at the past year and at some point within the past many years began to realize that there are Many Truths.  Yes I realize that some believe there is only the One Truth and they and others know this Truth and it is one of the many. A truth for me is that what I perceive or believe is a truth until I choose another perspective or belief.  Most of us have heard that the only constant in this life is change and change it does. I like others had thought that my and those who agreed with me or those truths were the constants and others were misinformed, not aware or just plain not getting it. I have been making an attempt to understand, perceive and practice Unconditional Love for a year now...

I am no stranger to debate or discussion or talking about subjects that some fear to tread.  One phrase that has at the least of irritated me is “Agree to Disagree” because the other party decided that they are no longer willing to discuss or change their mind.  I realize that we all have our perspective and the right to our views. In Wikipedia this phrase is explained as (link below) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agree_to_disagree “Agree to disagree or "agreeing to disagree" is a phrase in English referring to the resolution of a conflict (usually a debate or quarrel) whereby all parties tolerate but do not accept the opposing position(s). It generally occurs when all sides recognize that further conflict is unnecessary, ineffectiv...

What would it feel like? I have spent a lot of time exploring and had not spent much time learning of this place and have ignored much of the splendor and heaven that is available.  I watched a video on Facebook ; Abraham Hicks What Would It Feel Like.  I had heard of Abraham Hicks and just started reading some of their material, and though not an endorsement or challenge feel the unconditional love of the message.  This uplifting, hope giving video/message is wonderful providing a balance to the message that in most of my fifty plus years of this life have not been told.  That negative message is that we are prone to wrong doing; that we are not good or deserving, and have to work hard, suffer and dream of heaven in a life beyond here...

Now I am sure that some of you will disagree and I would like to hear why you think that is good for anyone by any of the definitions provided below. I added some other things that fall right in with abstinence and its mechanisms. If you like this or agree great let me know.  If you think that this is a crock of fertilizer then let me know that and why.  This is one of those things that we think of but seldom talk or discuss. Wikipedia states that Abstinence “is a voluntary restraint from indulging in bodily activities that are widely experienced as giving pleasure” Ok right there...  Would a reasonable person be willing to give up or abstain from pleasure?   I thought myself reasonable an in right mind in my life but have done just tha...

Warm and fuzzy, interesting I am trying to remember what warm and fuzzy is.  That tells me that it has been a while.  The first thought that came to mind are kittens.  They are warm and fuzzy full of energy until they are not in which they roll up into a small ball and go fast asleep.  Puppies are a delight as they are warm and fuzzy throughout life; they know the value of play.  Had the pleasure of both growing up and through my adult life. As I look around this morning I find that I have lots of people and things to be thankful for.  People and relationships are by far the most rewarding as they are not a thing or owned yet exchanged or given through osmoses. Cool word that I don’t use much: Osmose, Encarta describes this as “to caus...

Thursday, September 02, 20109/2/2010 4:57:54 AM Spent much of the week's dream time in places and situations that were nightmares on steroids; this morning’s dream/walk was interesting in that a friend had picked me up from a tourist summer tropical market, she said of the past week hoped that I would see that I should be who I am not what others want me to be. That’s a tough one for most of us.  We place conditions on ourselves and others not giving ourselves or others the chance to be who they are. I had forgotten is that what’s around me is much better than the realities of the recent dreams.  In these dreams I was an observer not a participant making choices or an active part of the dream.  We can observe yet making choices and bei...

At work five people went home yesterday and had to tell their families that they no longer had a job.  Some of these people had worked there near twenty plus years and a long way from retirement, but at an age tough to get work.  I know what it feels like-a pit in your stomach thinking where the next paycheck is coming from what you are going to tell your family.  I know what it is to look for work that pays anything near what I made before or even get a job that you enjoy. Those with young kids in school or spouses that are not working are in a really bad spot.   I know have been through the 1980ties in the US the corporate raiding and gutting of American companies many families were devastated.  The breakup of families and divorce has ...

Linda,
For years I have been saying "we are all special non more special than anyone else" I have said that in many ways yet what you wrote has the essence of that saying. I had got that from my dad saying that all jobs are important that there was none that were more important than another because they are all needed and important for everything to work. He knew like many that some are given a higher priority and are paid more; some have a higher prestige and honor yet the ARE all important. He used to say even the person who stops and picks up the garbage can is important... He would look at me when I was very young and ask what do you think would happen if he did not pick up the garbage? I told him it would get really crowed and stinky! He would smile and say that I was getting it.

Mr. Rogers. In my thirties I thought he was horrible "can you say tie my shoe?" lol I made fun of that man that it was mindless chatter.

As I got older and wiser I found that Mr. Rogers who transformed as my dad had, were men who had wisdom beyond their years. They had wisdom of humanity and the patients to share it with others without pretense or need of payment or glory.

They made this Earth a better place for that and other things; I for one had not noticed!

"You've Come a Long Way, Baby"

Abhijit,
It is all about perception both ours and others. Some perceptions are given more authority and priority. Law enforcement and Fire fighters and the Military are given wide birth and authority, therefore their perception has a greater weight than others . They like the rest are human with the full range of human attributes. The saying "Follow the Money" is still true and those who have the money have power and control to move and enforce their perceptions over others. When we realize that all are important and all perceptions are those of the holder and valuable then a noticeable change has happened. What I am encouraged with is that of the many, one being the Dali Lama their perceptions are much different than the authoritarian positions in our societies/cultures. These are much different views and approaches to life/death and living. Peace, love commitment are not words they are a way of life.

‘All wealth belongs to the Divine and those who hold it are trustees, not possessors.’
Posted at 03:04:17 PM on Aug 08, 2010
"All wealth belongs to the Divine and those who hold it are trustees, not possessors." Because my response got a liked click I received an email about my response. The title of this caught my attention on some level and this morning realized that many who have walked this earth have REALLY understood this concept of stewardship. In CopperWiki http://www.copperwiki.org/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&search=stewardship&fulltext=Search I found references to many activities that use this word as an application. In Wipidia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stewardship brought to me today and yourselves if you follow this url will find perhaps as I did understandings that are of today not of what I believe or know.

I see Stewardship as we are the Divine trustees if you will because the mind/body is a vessel that we share/hold, we are stewards of not as a possession. From this view point all changes-it is a opportunity to live. This body/mind of mine is rich with the history of the native Indian whose seeds have spread across this planet. Brown eyes that see colors with cellular knowledge seeped in stewardship of what and who we are rather than a possession really comes home to my mind/body this morning. We all have that cellular knowledge yet some choose to ignore its message to go another way of possession and control doubting the connection of our oneness and clinging to a belief that we are separate. I fought with this for many years yet realized that my core being is its own being not of this place with others who travel here. I use the word travel in strictly a third dimensional thought and concept.

Abhijit,

You wrote in part "..."Money is indeed one of the three forces – power, wealth, sex – that have the strongest attraction for the human ego and the Asura and are most generally mislead and misused by those who retain them."

You bring up an interesting point about misuse of power, wealth and sex. Taking what you said perhaps you were talking specifically about wealth yet those who hold control of wealth, power and sex- yes indeed cause many troubles. It seems those who are wielding this power of the three will most often disagree and rationalize their actions.

Sex seems to be a very delicate and volatile subject for many reasons, for religious beliefs and culture differences play a huge role in shaping restrictions and freedoms. Sex its self is used to control people, punish, reward ultimately to control another person or groups of people while natural people kind have twisted, bent and determined if not within their belief patterns that anything else is evil. Even in the biblical Garden of Eden nudity and sex were just fine until the reported fall. The point here is that often its not only the fact that we judge ourselves and others-We rely on precedents rather than observing and enjoying life.

The greater issue here is how we believe and our judgment and requirement of others to follow that judgment. If they (people) follow along then its fine, those that don't are severely dealt with (laws, policies and rules) by the enforcing authority. Now most of us think of the government, or local authorities, yet this extends to family units and relationships. If one of the parties does what most governments do; pass laws and judges and becomes the ruling authority then the one who is expected to follow along or get along is in a position of no power viewed by the others who are self appointed in charge. This flows from the family unit up to the system and flows back from the larger county unit. I am guessing this has been going on for at least five thousand years and perhaps much longer in a different fashion but still a preferred method.

Recognition that we are all connected and different yet equal; this would remove class and gender equality differences. Those in control see this as a loss yet it would be a win win for all-bridging that chasm is a worthy goal for Copperstrings!
