It has almost been two weeks since I left Dallas on a journey of self-love.  I packed up my car and drove to New Mexico to see friends in Santa Fe and followed up that delightful visit by heading to Colorado and seeing different sets of friends--staying at their homes and mixing in their lives for a few days at a time.  I call it a journey of self-love because I keep clearing away the clutter in my mind and when I look out I see these wonderful people reflecting love back to me.  I spent time in Eagle with some amazing and delightful children, and now am on my way to see my grandson.  Children are so inspiring because they are always in the present.  And that is pretty much what this journey has been about for me.  Loving simply being...

Grow in your sleep presents walk innovation in south London. Grow in your sleep was born in Zakynthos in Greece alongside advanced serendipity, which evolved into Walk Innovation.  It started with three friends, who were at a crossroads in their lives.  We did lots of walking, talking, keeping journals and having lots of fun.  What came out of this special place and journey is a new vision called walk innovation. Adam first tried out this walking and coaching method on me in the lovely mountains of Zakynthos.  When Adam first told me about his vision, I was not convinced and can be a very hard woman to please and get on board with new ventures.  I have done the motivational speaking conferences, network marketing meetings...

Some years ago I went to vegetate at a coffee plantation owned by a friend of ours in Coorg (or Kodagu as the Kodava's prefer to call it these days), Karnataka (A Southern state in India). This is an area located on the Western Ghats touching Kerala on the south-west. Ofcourse in those days Coorg had very little accomodation which blossomed into god alone knows how many homestays when the travel trade started booming in India. It's rumoured that there are well over 600 homestays in Coorg now. Anyway the point that I was coming to was as usual the food. Since this is an area of rich vegetation there's a huge amount of foraging that is very much a part of their cuisine both vegetartian and non-vegetarian. I had the fortune of st...

Back in February of 1999 I went to Laos, as part of my 18 month backpacking tour of Australia and South-East Asia. Its borders had not been opened long and it was necessary to check in and out of each new village that we visited, via a designated passport office. The practice seemed ridiculously antiquated afterour trips to Thailand, where tourism was rife, as was the cynicism overpeople’s motives for befriending us.   Our Thai trip had taught us to question people’s motives when they approached us, wanting to be our friends. So, my friend, Brian, and I were a little cautious when we crossed the border, over the Mekong river, from Thailand to Laos.   We did little on our first day at the other side of the border and checked...
