From Self Harming to Self Healing

When you think of self-harming what comes to mind? Usually for me it’s an image of a young woman cutting her skin with a razor blade enough to draw blood but not enough to kill. However last night I got a completely different sense of self –harming; it’s actually what I’ve been doing to myself for years and I can assure you I’ve never wielded a razor blade except against unwanted hair!I’ve been on a journey of personal discovery for over twenty years and often wonder if I’ve achieved much in that time. I do know I’ve had many aha moments, which are absolute food for my soul. I love those dazzling moments of pure clarity when the underlying structure is revealed to me about my behaviour, thought patterns, expectations etc. Last weeke...

ANGELIC APPROVAL

Angelic Approval Lately I have discovered a key in many of our lives, a key which can drive us, inspire us, make us feel good, however it can equally be a source of much frustration, anger, resentment and self-hate, this key, whichever way you choose to look at it is, Approval. Many of us will have experienced a person in life whom we want to please but it is when this pleasing comes at a price of self sacrifice and inner turmoil, that we must then acknowledge the reason behind wanting to please them. Is it that we our dependent on them loving us, for us to love us, are we waiting for them to make us feel good and “happy” with ourselves, if this is the case then I suggest we stop and take a moment to reflect on this addiction , for t...

Are you a Hindu?

Imagine for a moment you're six years old... Life is fairly simple and straightforward, you live in the countryside. Yet, not long into your schooling, you're in a bible study class. You're told you were made in the image of God. This makes no sense; the images you have of God are male, old and grey. In one of your special hideaways – the place where you go to ponder and reflect, even at that tender age – and you have a spiritual realisation. But of course you don't call it that, you're only six! You see that God is nature. God is the water, the air, the earth, nature in its entirety. It all suddenly makes sense. In next week's bible study, you share your insight. God is nature. Yes! I am God. “Are you a Hindu?”...

Bad things happen to good colleges

I heard yesterday that Kevala - one of the world's longest established and best loved therapy training schools - has ceased training. I was briefly Principal when the school, that did most of its training by distance learning across a wide range of holistic disciplines, was based in Torquay. It was there too that collaborative song 'The Moon (Kevala Whispers)' was written. It's one thing to hear of lay-offs and closures in the globalised business environment, but another to feel the recessionary pinch closer to home among smaller scale enterprises that I trust in some way are changing the world for the better. And my concern intensified this morning as I heard of the closure of another apparently life-enhancing organisation - The Li...

As an energy sensitive or 'clairsentient' you could say my life is one big energy food fight! I am bombarded by a finger buffet of energies every day. Not only do I sense the energies of person & place but I regularly receive subtle energy downloads from our collective consciousness & unconsciousness as well as finer, higher divine/cosmic downloads about life, the Universe & everything. This serves me well in my work as a healer, consciousness coach & spiritual guide as you can imagine. What this also means is that I am regularly contacted by people who think I may be interested in the latest channelled materials, newest healing modality, emerging guru, new energies or the latest intergalactic portal that has opened up. I am gratef...
