What are your biggest challenges? At least once or twice a year I put myself on a fasting detox as part of my health and fitness programme. It always provides me with many challenges but it has to be done. Yesterday I returned from one of the most fantastic weddings that I have ever been to. I met many good friends that I haven't seen for a while and many new friends. I went away a few days earlier and had a few days in Barcelona before driving over to France for the wedding with my dad and two friends, Mike and David. During this period I have had plenty of food and drink that would not be deemed entirely healthy from a purist perspective. However, I have laughed more in the past week than I have in a good while - and I laugh a lo...

Warm and fuzzy, interesting I am trying to remember what warm and fuzzy is.  That tells me that it has been a while.  The first thought that came to mind are kittens.  They are warm and fuzzy full of energy until they are not in which they roll up into a small ball and go fast asleep.  Puppies are a delight as they are warm and fuzzy throughout life; they know the value of play.  Had the pleasure of both growing up and through my adult life. As I look around this morning I find that I have lots of people and things to be thankful for.  People and relationships are by far the most rewarding as they are not a thing or owned yet exchanged or given through osmoses. Cool word that I don’t use much: Osmose, Encarta describes this as “to caus...

I JUST READ A BIG BANNER ON TV AND A LARGE GROUP OF PEOPLE CHEERING as they wave at the banner  Slogan The pursuit of happiness Is a completely misleading belief Your ego is what keeps pushing you and it does not believe in happiness or love So it is always doing what it is meant to do keeping you unhappy in any way it can. The ego is the lost innocent frightened child in each of us who is terrified of change to one degree or another The ego is the Pretender who runs your life. And I mean it makes you run. Or it sits down and says whatever. Until you catch it at work. The ego is what places the carrot just always out of reach That is what the pursuit of happiness is. INSTEAD OF BEING HAPPY EVERY...

Thursday, September 02, 20109/2/2010 4:57:54 AM Spent much of the week's dream time in places and situations that were nightmares on steroids; this morning’s dream/walk was interesting in that a friend had picked me up from a tourist summer tropical market, she said of the past week hoped that I would see that I should be who I am not what others want me to be. That’s a tough one for most of us.  We place conditions on ourselves and others not giving ourselves or others the chance to be who they are. I had forgotten is that what’s around me is much better than the realities of the recent dreams.  In these dreams I was an observer not a participant making choices or an active part of the dream.  We can observe yet making choices and bei...

The more Reiki is studied, the more its benefits are recognized.  So far Reiki has been proven through case studies to:  Lower blood pressure, reduce pain and swelling, speed and promote healing and relax the nervous system.  Reiki is sentient Life Force energy from the Universe itself.  It is a gentle, pervasive, intelligent energy that cannot harm anyone or anything. Yet sometimes I hear that people call Reiki a "dangerous" energy.  I think that is sad.  Reiki cannot be used in any way to harm anyone or anything.  An individual can, however, use their own energy to prove a point or insist that things be a certain way.  Be aware that that is not Reiki at all, but an individual person's energy. I also sometimes hear that Reiki co...

It has almost been two weeks since I left Dallas on a journey of self-love.  I packed up my car and drove to New Mexico to see friends in Santa Fe and followed up that delightful visit by heading to Colorado and seeing different sets of friends--staying at their homes and mixing in their lives for a few days at a time.  I call it a journey of self-love because I keep clearing away the clutter in my mind and when I look out I see these wonderful people reflecting love back to me.  I spent time in Eagle with some amazing and delightful children, and now am on my way to see my grandson.  Children are so inspiring because they are always in the present.  And that is pretty much what this journey has been about for me.  Loving simply being...

At work five people went home yesterday and had to tell their families that they no longer had a job.  Some of these people had worked there near twenty plus years and a long way from retirement, but at an age tough to get work.  I know what it feels like-a pit in your stomach thinking where the next paycheck is coming from what you are going to tell your family.  I know what it is to look for work that pays anything near what I made before or even get a job that you enjoy. Those with young kids in school or spouses that are not working are in a really bad spot.   I know have been through the 1980ties in the US the corporate raiding and gutting of American companies many families were devastated.  The breakup of families and divorce has ...

I woke up this morning with an image in my head of people all around me playing a game of "Peek a boo", only they never reached the final phrase and phase of the game, which is "I see You!". They just kept covering and uncovering their eyes and saying "peek a boo."  As I thought more about it, it hit me in a profound way that most people go throughout their lives playing this form of "peek a boo". They uncover their eyes just long enough for others to have a peek at them, but then they quickly cover them up again. The eyes being the windows to the soul or the windows to who is really inside that human figure are revealed for anyone to see, but only for a moment. They are covered again before anyone can really get a good long look or be...

In Northern Italy in the heart of the Piedmontese alps near the French borders lies a community that is extolled worldwide as an enviable model of eco-spiritual living in what is known as the federation of Damanhur. Inside the mountain are carved temples of unbelievable art form, covering miles of passages at different levels, mosaic floors, stained glass windows and hidden doors and all created by the people themselves. We were a group of fellows working in or around the grounds of one nucleo as the community houses are called for a brief period this year. Only shortly back from Italy, I realise it is a cult of mind control, economic and probably sexual exploitation in favour of one man. I saw very little. We were well fed on delicious ...
