Caring about what people think can make you a very powerful person. Caring about what people think OF YOU can quickly take that power away. This is the conclusion I came to tonight after some deep soul searching that has gone on inside of me for the last few weeks. My journey in trying to figure out who I really am and what I can do to best serve humanity has lead me to this very valuable truth that explains the walls I keep running into in  my life.  Many times I have repeated this cycle: Get a great idea, work intensely on that idea, share it with a few people, get a plan together to share it with many, and then get scared and let it all go. I have been wondering for a long time why I do that. I see many other people do that same t...

How do we determine the value of a human being? Perhaps we measure value by the work they can do or by their actions toward others. Maybe we determine value through the clothes they wear or by their vocation or geographic location. Perhaps we determine value in the way people look, the vehicle they drive, or the home they live in. Or maybe value equals financial value. But what if all of these things were stripped away? What if all that is left is the human being itself? Does value still exist? There are many works of literature and art as well as historical and scriptural accounts that would lead us to believe that it does. The obvious answer may in fact be, yes, of course there is still value. However, as I get an opportunity to me...

Dorothy's journal on self-esteem motivated me to write about a topic I have recently been studying. The topic is finding one's voice. I really believe that each of us as human beings has a specific message that we are equipped with to share with the rest of humankind. It may be shared by what we do for a living. It may be shared through our daily interactions with others. But mostly, it is shared through WHO we are. As we start to clear away the baggage, drama, excess clutter, stresses of life, lies about ourselves, limitations, etc., we slowly evolve into our true selves, and it is through this true self, that the voice comes out and can be shared with those around us. The problems that we run into are that sometimes we have a hard...

Yes, it is I once again; here to titillate your brain cells with my very UNIQUE ways of thinking! So how’s that for an opening line? If you don’t like it, my first thoughts to you are this…”SO WHAT”! Actually I only said that to introduce an, “attitude phrase”. It is a very good positive reaction in defense of your self-esteem and self-worth. So many of us fall into the traps of pity and “woe is me”, which only ignites the fires of negative thoughts. They will do nothing but add fuel to those negativity fires in your mind.I hear more and more, every day, from women who dig themselves deeper and deeper into personal pits of loneliness and self-abuse with negative thoughts. For some reason they would rather allow the negative elements ...

Gloucester Teens Had Pact To Get Pregnant...... GLOUCESTER (WBZ) ― There's a stunning twist to the sudden rise in teen pregnancies at Gloucester High School. 17 students there are expecting and, according to a published report, most of them became that way on purpose. Time Magazine is reporting that nearly half of the girls confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together. None of the girls is older than 16. Principal Joseph Sullivan said that wasn't all that was shocking. "We found out one of the fathers is a 24-year-old homeless guy," he told Time. Last month, two top officials at the high school's health center resigned in a fight over contraceptives distribution. Medical Director Dr. ...
