http://gomestic.com/do-it-yourself/make-your-own-coffee-table/ The article above demonstrates how I save the material from wind damaged trees and build something good from it. I have salvaged over 1,000 trees in the last eight years. I have to admit, not every tree will be worth $1,600 because of the way the wind blows it down splitting it or cracking it badly and not all trees are suitable for the projects shown in the link above. For eco conscientious  people this is a pleasant way to use your hobby time with a very small outlay of tools. All of my tools were bought on sale and one or two projects paid for my entire shop. Take a look, if you like what you read in the link, click the I Like button. Dr Robert E McGinnis http://w...

Several years ago, I wrote a book for my children. this is but one out of hundreds. Beyond our genetic limitations, we may have a lot of say so over our aging process. This process started long before we were born and, physically, will terminate about the same time we do. However, what happens during the time between your birth and demise may have a lot to do with how long you live. There are many who espouse the principal of exercise, hard work, etc, and then we have those who depend on a good and steady diet of healthy foods. Is this enough? Is this necessary, or is something missing? What if, and I only suggest, what if, it is our outlook, attitude and relationships that give us the greatest strength in a long and very happy li...

I woke up this morning with an image in my head of people all around me playing a game of "Peek a boo", only they never reached the final phrase and phase of the game, which is "I see You!". They just kept covering and uncovering their eyes and saying "peek a boo."  As I thought more about it, it hit me in a profound way that most people go throughout their lives playing this form of "peek a boo". They uncover their eyes just long enough for others to have a peek at them, but then they quickly cover them up again. The eyes being the windows to the soul or the windows to who is really inside that human figure are revealed for anyone to see, but only for a moment. They are covered again before anyone can really get a good long look or be...

My love affair with the sky started when I was born! I think I fell in love with it since I opened my eyes, because since I can remember, I always looked at the sky, the clouds, the light refracting through the clouds at different times of the day ... in different parts of the world ... I always liked flying too, my first flying experience was when I was 16 years old and flew to U.K. to go to Cambridge for a summer language course. I still remember my ecstasy when the plane started taxing on the runway and took off, I never felt something so exilarating before in my life! My love affair with planes was started. I also remember looking at a poster that my father gave me during my teens of a tornado fighter and dreaming of flyin...

I was put here for the first time today to give thanks and gratitude for the monetary blessing I received. I was put here for the first time today to acknowledge that I have been a good Steward over all that I've been blessed with. I was put here today for the first time to give thanks and gratitude to a business associate and my partner, my sister, for the new venture, an Adult Day Care Center, "My Sister's Place."  To voice my gratitude the smooth and timely way that it is unfolding. I was put here for the first time today to get my act together, spiritually and otherwise. I was put here for the first time today to write notes to people and phone people that are in my life at present. I was put here for the first time to...

To be trapped by anything can make one feel as if they are imprisoned in a small space with no air to breathe. Unlike the Jeanie trapped in a bottle for centuries until someone happened to find this bottle and magically rub it to life. You are not that lucky! Unfortunately there is no Prince Charming out there that will find you and magically rub you until you are free. You are the only one that can escape the prison of low self-esteem! Your self-esteem is up to you and only you. You can waste days upon days…years upon years waiting and hoping for that someone to come and make your self-esteem higher. It will never happen. You will have lived life lonely, angry, hidden and trapped. My advice to you is to begin with who you see ev...

During the holiday season we seem to be kinder, more compassionate, and more apt to give charitably to those in need. It makes us feel good to give, to serve, and to love! It seems to add to the warmth of Christmas and for many it is even a tradition. Yet, when the holidays end, we often return to our 'regular lives', and our giving, serving, and loving efforts are virtually placed in the storage boxes with the trees, wreaths, and other decorations. I watched a children's show once where one of the characters wished that it could be Christmas every day. He did this because he loved the way he felt at Christmas time, and so this seemed like a solution to be able to feel this way ALL the time. Well, as I am sure you can imagine, havi...

For me, there is no one particular approach or technique in discovering how to become master of my spiritual destiny.  As a matter of truth, I have not really mastered any one thing fully.  Every day, every situation in some way is the same yet in some ways, different, so...  What I have done though is become better in some things today and I was say, a couple of months ago, a year ago, 10 years ago or even a lifetime(s) ago.  My reminder is, "A little progress in many areas is better than no progress in most."  I do have some spiritual exercises and techniques that I diligent and consciously practice on a daily basis (http://www.BeeBlessedDaily.com).  Some of them I practice when I'm in the midst of one of life's challenges have a...

I have been looking at the world through my WE-colored glasses and noticing a whole different side to everything. My WE-colored glasses are a constant reminder to me that I am part of "WE" with others, within myself, with the planet, and with a Higher Power--all existing interdependently and harmoniously, living cooperatively and complimentary to each other. When I get angry at others for something they have done to me, my WE-colored glasses remind me that I am my biggest challenge, not others. When I notice another's mistake, they remind me that I make mistakes too. When I feel alone, they remind me that I am never really alone. When I feel hopeless, helpless, or just don't know what to do, they remind me to look to my Higher Power...
