Caring about what people think can make you a very powerful person. Caring about what people think OF YOU can quickly take that power away. This is the conclusion I came to tonight after some deep soul searching that has gone on inside of me for the last few weeks. My journey in trying to figure out who I really am and what I can do to best serve humanity has lead me to this very valuable truth that explains the walls I keep running into in  my life.  Many times I have repeated this cycle: Get a great idea, work intensely on that idea, share it with a few people, get a plan together to share it with many, and then get scared and let it all go. I have been wondering for a long time why I do that. I see many other people do that same t...

When I read Alma Devi's Journal this morning called One Day at a Time, I knew what I wanted to write about today. In her journal she talks about doubt and fear and gives such an excellent insight on what those culprits look like and how they seemingly keep us safe. This was so easy to relate to for me as I am certain it will be for all who read it. After all, we have all known these 'safety mechanisms' for a long time. They are part of the human existence. In fact doubt and fear are not only something we share with each other, but they are seemingly caused by each other. No, I am not blaming my doubts and fears on you. Would I do that? Please trust me for a moment and stay with me... What I am saying is that my doubts and fears are b...

This is a comprehensive article.  The content is very valuable and may just trigger an internal response or an AHA moment. MYSTERY OF THE HEALING PROCESS Hundreds of people find our website through internet search engines.   Sometimes they find our herbal remedies through personal recommendation or advertisements in magazines like Kindred Spirit.  They make contact either by email, phone calls, letters or simply order out of the blue. Almost everyone who contacts us or looks at our website is looking for answers to their persistent health issues. Each time we encounter challenging and complex problems, it pushes us to explore, research and find ways of adding new resources to our range, for improving our health and well-being,...

The sense of smell is one of the greatest unexplored mysteries.  As I immersed myself in the research I was shocked to realise that information so vital and basic had been misunderstood and obscured for so long.  Something in my body had to shift to allow this extraordinary discovery to settle so that I could once again integrate what must be our birthright.  As we re-connect with our intuition it seems that the time is right for it this information to be spread and shared. This story starts in 1813, with a Danish anatomist called Ludvig Jacobson and involves a structure within the nose, formed by two tiny indents that were named the “Organ of Jacobson”.  Today it is referred to as the vomeronasal organ and is the subject of a fascinat...

Someone recently called me ‘counter-intuitive’. Which I took as a complement, although I’m not sure that it was intended as such. And of course, one of the most inappropriate things to do when Connect is dedicating an edition to green money and ethical investment – on which I am specialist – would be to use this column to write about something completely different. So read on. . . It’s really because I recently ran the workshop Making Friends With Money and realised that I’d never written anything about it. I’ve been doing it since 1993 in locations all over the country. And it’s (if I say so myself) pretty damn’ good. But the name seems to frighten people off. Somebody at the last session apologised on the way in because she ...

Kimberley Jones has talked about the involvement of fear in states of transition; I welcome this because it does seem that fear - or, as I prefer, phobia; that irrational, superstitious, crippling, disproportionate neurosis - inevitably creeps in to ruin our day. And, it’s true, afterwards in hindsight we often wonder what the fuss was about. ‘’Should have done it sooner!’’ How many of us have said that? Fear has almost become a commodity; it’s traded, fear for fear; it’s used to sell other commodities, buy this or you’ll be poorer, eat this or you’ll die! Ironically, it’s even used to cure people of fear. ‘’Aren’t you worried right now? You should be, everyone else is! Now come with me and I’ll help you out’’. So what do we do...

Kidney, organ of winter, Water element, flow, trust, direction, potential. Fear is pervasive in our society.  It is everywhere; it smells, it breathes and you can feel it.  It clenches every muscle in our body and we close ourselves up in order to protect ourselves.  We all live like this.  Why?  Is it correct?  Should we be afraid? Is that really what we came here for? Everything we are taught by our parents, by our teachers, is basically to keep us safe.  We are taught never to trust other people, we are taught to be competitive, and that if we don’t win we are failures.  We are taught to be in our mind, not to believe anything that can’t be proved and tested, and to believe those in authority.  We are never, ever taught to fee...
