My friend Maddie might be the youngest Life Entrepreneur I have written about.  She's 3 1/2 years old, and quite busily carving out the life she wants to live.  Almost every Sunday she goes swimming with my friend Lida, her grandmother, who is very committed to making sure she swims well enough to stay safe in the pool. After they swim each week, Grandma gives Maddie a quarter to buy a Popsicle treat, but a couple of weeks ago, Grandma looked in her bag and realized she had no money, no quarter, nothing. She explained to Maddie that this week, there would be no Popsicle. Maddie looked at the concession stand, and fervently exclaimed that THEY had quarters, and THEY had Popsicles over THERE!  And they just needed to go over there and g...

Thanks to one of my friends in New York who asked me how he could deal with the overwhelming demands of his workplace.  This is a great topic and absolutely vital to understand for anyone in business right now. Let’s call my friend Pete (to protect privacy) and his colleagues were recently accused of being sloppy in their work at a management meeting.   But are they sloppy or just trying to do too much in too short a space of time and without the necessary resources?  As more companies make cutbacks, those who are in work are constantly battling to keep up with the demands made of them.   You know the scenario.   Just as you think you’ve planned your day, in comes the demand to update your blog, attend a meeting, deal with a crisis and...

In the face of ever-increasing economic and environmental challenges, we can all find our stress levels rising and all the fun disappearing from our lives... One group fighting this vicious circle of anxiety and negativity is BonPom – a social movement with an emphasis on self-help, positivity and vitality.   The brainchild of ex-Gillian McKeith employees Alan Martin and Rob Steidle, BonPom’s key message is “help yourself”, with a double meaning. It recommends we help our selves by taking control of our lives, and also helping ourselves to their fast growing collection of on-line resources for healthy and positive living.  “If uplifting and inspiring self-help books, podcasts, blogs, videos and events are your thing, you...

Yoga helps to gain good health & meditation creates positive effects & vibration both physically and mentally. The body’s natural relaxation response is a powerful antidote to stress. Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, progressive muscle relaxation, meditation, and yoga can help you activate this relaxation response. When practiced regularly, these activities lead to a reduction in your everyday stress levels and a boost in your feelings of joy and serenity. What’s more, they also serve a protective quality by teaching you how to stay calm and collected in the face of life’s curveballs.                             It is basically not getting rid of stress but also getting rid of health problems. ...

According to David McCready, this - the ‘reality’ in which you are reading this article - is a simulation. Yes, that’s right, the place where you fret, stress and traumatise yourself is an illusion. Not only is it an illusion, it’s allegedly an illusion that you once agreed to take part in, for your own ultimate fulfilment. At this point, you can dismiss what might sound like the greatest cop-out ever (and get back to your daily dramas), or – as I strongly suggest – take a look at what this post-modern mystic has to say. It could amount to the greatest and most enlightening sigh of relief you’ve ever expelled. Come to think of it that’s where David tends to start his training: with the breath. Few of us breathe effectively...

Yes, it is I once again; here to titillate your brain cells with my very UNIQUE ways of thinking! So how’s that for an opening line? If you don’t like it, my first thoughts to you are this…”SO WHAT”! Actually I only said that to introduce an, “attitude phrase”. It is a very good positive reaction in defense of your self-esteem and self-worth. So many of us fall into the traps of pity and “woe is me”, which only ignites the fires of negative thoughts. They will do nothing but add fuel to those negativity fires in your mind.I hear more and more, every day, from women who dig themselves deeper and deeper into personal pits of loneliness and self-abuse with negative thoughts. For some reason they would rather allow the negative elements ...
